A Message to our Community from Hot Bread Kitchen CEO, Leslie Abbey As we look ahead to the next chapter in our nation’s journey, we know this moment carries different emotions and perspectives for everyone in our community. Our mission at Hot Bread Kitchen has always been rooted in creating pathways to economic opportunity and empowerment for women, gender-expansive people, immigrants, and people of color. This work is driven by our belief in the right to agency, safety, and dignity, and by our commitment to building an inclusive and diverse economy that honors the contributions of all. Personally, and especially as the mother of a first-time voter who is trying her best to understand the divisiveness she is seeing nationally, I am reminded that while social justice is always our north star, we must treat differences – of all kinds – with grace and humanity.? No matter where we each stand personally, we remain united in our values: we reject hate, division, and bigotry. We reaffirm our commitment to be a champion and resource to our members, their families and communities.? Hot Bread Kitchen will continue to expand our services, reach even more individuals who want our support, and work tirelessly with partner organizations and leaders to achieve our mission. On behalf of all of us at Hot Bread Kitchen, Leslie Abbey
